Abraham, the great patriarchHow misunderstood the patriarchs of the first era have been into the eyes of the world, before a hypocritical humanity that has the tendency to judge others according to its own peculiar rules and social conventionalism, through a changing morale in which materialism and pations overflow without control, in midst of human groups that forget the concepts of family and the duties towards God, a sick society in which the familiarity with sin has become normal and daily happening, where death, treason and violence have become licit, as every day's bread. How criticized Abraham has been, that patriarch named as father of the people of Israel, who lived in harmony with the angels as friends, and spoke with God daily. That man of a simple and virtuous life that was subjected to the greatest tests, even by the hardest and most incredulous men of his time, whom through his example of fidelity and unbreakable love towards his God, finished converting them to the doctrine of good, making them proclaim the existence of a unique God. The first thing forgotten by those who dare to judge the life of that man, is that same as for all the other great patriarchs of ancient times, Abraham lived before anything, in accordance with the divine laws, placing before his own interests, the will of his Lord.
"Those men honored Me with their lives;
they were not idolatrous since they
already knew spirituality, they had a
sense of love and charity towards the
foreigner, and within their homes were
hospitable towards the fatigued
traveler; they had for all a good word
and a wise advice".
"The power that emanated from Abraham,
did not come from his physical strength,
but from the power of his spiritual
prayer, from the unbreakable faith that
he had in the divine will, from his
humbleness and obedience".
"Ah! If men of this era could understand
the power of the prayer, what superhuman
deeds they would perform! But they live
an age of materialism, in which they
even try to materialize the divine in
order to touch it and be able to see
it".
"My servants of past eras, Noah,
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, Joseph or
Moses, knew about the power of prayer
and with that they gave unforgettable
demonstrations to Mankind, leaving their
manner of praying as an example for all
generations".
"To those men, the place to pray was
indifferent; they knew that they carried
in their innermost being the temple of
the Father. The pathway they sought to
draw nearer My fountain of mercy was
their faith; a faith in My presence, in
My justice, in My providence and in My
love".
"I subjected each of those men to a
great test, so great that testimonies of
it will remain for all eras. And in
those tests they knew how to remain
faithful, obedient, humble, fervent
toward their Creator".
"My response was always immediate toward
the faith and love of those servants,
making them worthy of My manifestations
of power, which are only granted to men
of great faith and good will".
Those are the reasons why humanity does not understand the
lives of the patriarchs, for which they are judged as
primitive, mad or fanatics, and on many occasions as
impractical utopians and liars, many of them passing on as
legends or fiction characters.
Our materialist world, lacking spirituality has made us seen as impossible those signs of faith and obedience that the patriarchs such as Abraham were capable of, since he was even willing to sacrifice his own beloved son to comply the will of his Lord. Which of us would be willing to sacrifice whom we love most to demonstrate to God his fidelity and love? This is the teaching that encloses the example of Abraham; it was not about renouncing to any particular thing, but to the most beloved, and even then did not hesitate to sacrifice him. How many of us are not even willing to sacrifice the least of the materialism that involves us, willing to abandon a bad habit or weakness, to renounce our indifference towards others, or to sacrifice our own pride once in a while? How many of us are willing to sacrifice our comfort, our time, and so many other things that we could give up from time to time, for a moment, to dedicate to give our Father the only thing that He asks from us: Love towards our brethren? Which many of us would be willing to regenerate his life, as our Father asks, in this instant, capable of leaving his vices and sin, if that meant the end of wars and arrival of peace to the earth? How many of us have been able to bless God in unfortunate times? To give Him thanks when going through the most difficult tests, without doubting that His will is always wise, as did those great patriarchs? "I bless your sorrows and tears, beloved people, but I say to you that you have not yet learned to accept with love and resignation, the chalice of bitterness". "Do not forget that the merit does not consist in suffering, but rather in knowing how to suffer with love toward the Father, with faith and patience, in order to extract from that suffering the greatest benefit and the most profound lessons". "If, in your trials, there was no love towards the will of your Father, you have not made any merit before Me. You have not known how to take advantage of the opportunity to elevate yourselves a little more, and therefore, you will have to pass through that ordeal again, which is necessary for your spirit". "Your existence would be different if instead of arduously dragging your cross, you would advance along the pathway blessing your grief; then you would instantly feel as if an invisible hand touched you to remove from your lips the bitter cup". "Blessed is he who blesses the will of his Lord; blessed is he who blesses his own bitterness, knowing that it will cleanse his blemishes, because that is affirming his footsteps to ascend the spiritual mountain". "Not always will it be necessary that you drain the bitter cup to dregs, because it will be enough for Me to observe your faith, your obedience, your purpose and intention of obeying My mandate, so I will exempt you from facing that moment of greater harshness or ordeal". "Remember that Abraham was asked for the life of his son Isaac, whom he loved deeply, and that the patriarch, overcoming his pain and passing over the love for the son, he prepared himself to sacrifice him in a test of obedience, of faith, of love and humbleness that you cannot yet conceive, but he was not permitted to consummate the sacrifice of the son, because deep within his heart he had proven his obedience before the divine will and that was enough". "How great was the rejoicing of Abraham, when his hand was held by a superior force, impeding the sacrifice of Isaac! How he blessed the name of his Lord, and marveled at His wisdom!" "How many ordeals you have rejected with your ignorance, without being aware of the light that they brought upon your spirit! How many lessons have come to an end because your unconformity, lack of faith or cowardice have not permitted it".Could there be anyone who thinks that God did not know to what degree Abraham's fidelity would be, and that is why He tested him by asking for the life of his son? I hope not. He knew in His divine wisdom that the patriarch was capable of in his love for his Lord; the test was to make even greater and stronger the spirit of Abraham and to give all humanity an example of what faith and obedience should be to the divine will. Unfortunately, we have not yet learned the lesson which was given to us through the example of all the illuminated ones that have stepped on earth. If humanity of all times would have understood Abraham's example, God would not have had to become man. He would not have had to deliver to us His verb incarnated in Jesus in the Second Era, to demonstrate to us through the incomprehensible immolation of the Messiah, the dimension of the love that God has for all His children. His sacrifice was the door that showed us the door to salvation, however, in that time of incomparable divine pain, there was no angel to detain the hand of the executioners, to avoid the holocaust of the only just One, the only saint, the only one without stain, the Son of God.
